KAMAZ-Engineering JSC is one of the first major and successful joint Kazakhstan-Russian projects in motor vehicle production. The enterprise was founded on 2 June 2005. The first dump truck and bus were assembled on 5 August 2005, and the first production truck went off the conveyor on 19 August. President Nursultan Nazarbayev became the most honorary guest at the official opening of the plant. In September 2006, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Danial Akhmetov and Prime Minister of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov paid a working visit to our plant. Production volume in 2006 was 1,621 trucks or 8 billion tenge. All products are sold in the domestic market. The roster strength of the personnel in 2006 was 280, the average monthly salary was 50,456 tenge, and 109.3 million tenge was transferred to the budget and extra- budgetary funds. The share of products made by the enterprise in the last year was about 40% to the total output in Kokshetau. The quality and services provided by the enterprise to meet consumers’ needs are improving: - An extensive dealership network in many regions of Kazakhstan, - A large network of service centres for maintenance of KAMAZ trucks in Kazakhstan, - An opportunity to purchase trucks on a leasing or loan basis, - At the customers’ request, delivery of trucks to the destination place is provided by our own drivers. Great working conditions have been created for the employees: - Spacious and equipped changing rooms and shower cabins, - For engineers: convenient offices with the 21st century equipment, - The workers have a full meal free of charge, - An expensive water filtration unit has been installed, - Money is assigned for cultural and entertainment activities, The product output for 2007 is planned to reach 3,192 trucks totalling 17 billion tenge. The production output for the 1st quarter of this year is 508 trucks or 2,787.5 million tenge, the average monthly salary is 52,046 tenge, and the roster strength of the personnel is 336. A total of 19.9 million tenge has been transferred to the budget. According to the localisation plan, the following has been set up: - a welding and platform painting place - a platform assembly and joint welding place - a tire changing place Development plans of the enterprise include further expansion of the KAMAZ model line, including heavy dump trucks and full-drive trucks.
